Paragon Bank backs Mackenzie Homes with £9m funding for lakeside Taplow development

Paragon Bank’s Development Finance division has agreed a £9m facility with Mackenzie Homes to support a new residential scheme in Taplow, Buckinghamshire.

The funding will cover the acquisition of the site and construction of 16 high-specification homes at Joe’s Folly, a lakeside development adjacent to Amerden Lake.

Work is scheduled to begin in the coming weeks, with completion targeted for February 2027.

The scheme will feature a mix of family homes designed with sustainability and modern living in mind.

Each property will include electric vehicle charging points, high-performance insulation and energy-efficient heating systems.

The development is projected to achieve an EPC A rating, qualifying it for Paragon’s Green Homes Initiative, which rewards SME housebuilders for delivering energy-efficient homes.

This latest agreement marks the fourth time Paragon has partnered with Mackenzie Homes, following support for three earlier schemes.

Previous loans were converted into marketing facilities to provide additional time for sales, reflecting the long-standing relationship between the two firms.

Taj Sangha, managing director at Mackenzie Homes, said: “Paragon has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of our business and the development process.

“Its flexible approach and commitment to our vision has been key to bringing Joe’s Folly to life.

“We’re excited to deliver another exceptional scheme that reflects our focus on lifestyle-led, sustainable homes.”

Steve Mountain, senior relationship director at Paragon Bank, added: “I’ve worked with Taj on various schemes over the past 15 years and on behalf of Paragon, we’re really proud to continue our partnership with Mackenzie Homes for what promises to be another standout development in a sought-after location.

“Joe’s Folly combines sustainable design in a picturesque lakeside setting with excellent transport links.

“It’s exactly the kind of scheme we’re keen to support – one that delivers value to both the local community and the environment.”

Located close to the Thames and benefiting from Elizabeth Line connections into London, Taplow has seen strong demand for energy-efficient homes in semi-rural locations.
