Pure Retirement has released resources aimed at helping advisers and customers better understand the later life lending sector.
The lender’s research found 66% of brokers said client misunderstanding was a main challenge.
In response, Pure Retirement has launched customer-facing blogs covering topics such as misconceptions about lifetime mortgages, uses for released funds, information needed for applications, how to avoid financial scams, and the impact of spray foam insulation on lending.
The lender has also published the third episode of its podcast, Purely In Conversation, hosted by national field sales manager Jane Mullan.
The latest episode features Kelly Melville Kelly, director of risk, policy and compliance at the Equity Release Council, who discusses key issues in the sector.
Topics include findings from the Council’s mystery shop of adviser firms, tips for advisers, and updates on Council activities such as forums and white papers.
A previous podcast episode featured Kelly Worthington, director of Later Life Freedom, who spoke about her experiences in the later life lending sector and the marketing strategies she has used.
Melanie Godley (pictured), senior marketing manager at Pure Retirement, said: “With advisers having confirmed during our research earlier this year that client misunderstanding maintains one of the main barriers to them exploring later life lending, we’ve responded with these new resources to give those who are exploring equity release the necessary information to allow them to establish if it’s the right solution to them, and by extension to make informed decisions.
“We’re also pleased to be using our podcast to help amplify the Council’s vision for the later life lending sector, and provide a resource that adds value to advisers as they navigate the market, and we look forward to continuing to build our suite of resources for both advisers and consumers, as part of our commitment to supporting all of the market, all of the time.”
