Spaciable launches multi-language feature to support housing providers

Spaciable has launched a multi-language feature to help housing providers and residents communicate more easily.

The tool lets residents access information about their home and community updates in their own language using the Spaciable Living app.

Residents using Spaciable Living can now select their preferred language for the dashboard and translate messages or notifications from providers and neighbours.

The aim is to make updates and safety information more accessible to everyone.

Languages currently available include Polish, Romanian, Punjabi, Gujarati, Arabic, Turkish, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Nepali, Tamil, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.

More languages will be added.

The feature costs £2.50 per plot, per month, plus a £50 standard software fee per development each month.

There is a one-off set-up fee of £2,000 for new clients.

David Graydon, founder and CEO at Spaciable, said: “At Spaciable, we’re always exploring new ways to strengthen the relationship between homebuilders or housing providers and their residents, while making their day-to-day lives easier.

“Effective communication is always a high priority for developers and landlords – especially considering the safety implications.

“With our new Languages feature, all residents can access crucial information about their home, as well as safety and wellbeing guidelines for the development.”

Graydon added: “We believe this addresses a crucial and underserved need among homebuilders and landlords to be able to effortlessly communicate with residents in their native language.”

Oscar Mardell, head of partnerships at Spaciable, said: “Spaciable not only improves operational efficiency, but also takes a holistic approach to resident engagement.

“This means empowering residents and helping them make the most of their surroundings.

“Modern life can often feel isolating – so much so that 15% of tenants in the social sector report feeling lonely often or always.”

Mardell added: “For tenants who may not speak fluent English, this feeling can be heightened when they struggle to engage with their local community.

“Through the Spaciable Living app, tenants can now translate messages written in English by their housing provider or neighbours into their native language, helping them become more involved in community matters and events such as running clubs, barbecues, and more.”
