Legal & General (L&G) Group has appointed Andrew Kail as group chief financial officer (CFO), taking over from Jeff Davies, who will leave the board on 10th December 2025.
Kail is set to become group CFO and executive director from 1st December 2025, subject to regulatory approval.
Davies will remain at L&G until the end of 2025 to help with the transition.
Kail is currently CEO of the Institutional Retirement business and has also led L&G Assurance Society since the start of last year.
Kail joined in 2021 as CEO of the retail retirement division.
Before this, he spent 30 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in senior roles, including head of financial services.
He is also an ICAEW chartered accountant and board member at TheCityUK.
Kail said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Chief Financial Officer of L&G at such an important time for the Group, as we press forward with the delivery of our ambitious strategy.

Davies said: “L&G is a fantastic company and it has been a privilege to be its CFO. Our great people, values and clear purpose have made my time here hugely enjoyable.
“As I hand over to Andrew, we are making excellent progress in implementing our strategy, building on very healthy financials.
