Skipton relaunches funding scheme to support local charities

Skipton Building Society has relaunched its Community Giving scheme with a £164,000 fund for local charities.

The scheme is running across 82 branches, with 246 charities set to receive funding.

Members visiting Skipton branches can vote for one of three local charities.

The charity with the most votes will get £1,000, second place will receive £600, and third place £400.

Now in its third year, the Community Giving scheme has already given out over £330,000, supporting more than 700 local charities and community groups across the UK.

Abi Haythornthwaite, group social impact senior specialist at Skipton, said: “At Skipton, we’re passionate about supporting the local communities where our members live and work.

“The Community Giving scheme allows us to shine a light on smaller charities that make a big difference and gives our members the power to influence where our funding goes.

“We’re proud to continue this initiative and excited to see the positive impact it will bring to our local communities.”
