Ecology joins Simplybiz Mortgages panel

Ecology Building Society has joined the Simplybiz Mortgages panel, giving Simplybiz Mortgages member firms direct access to Ecology’s full range of mortgages.

This includes loans for energy-efficient homes, eco-renovations, conversions, retrofits, and community-led housing.

Daniel Capstick, senior mortgages product and proposition manager at Ecology, said: “We’re really pleased to be joining the Simplybiz Mortgages panel and look forward to working with its members.

“Our impact-led lending is designed to support properties and projects which have positive environmental and social benefits and we’ve been adding to our product range this year.

“We know there’s a growing market in homeowners wanting to live more sustainably and brokers can help us to reach those buyers and re-mortgagers who are looking for a truly ‘green’ mortgage.”

Capstick added: “As specialists in ethical finance for more than 40 years, our team has extensive knowledge to support Simplybiz Mortgages member firms and their clients, whether that’s for complex cases, non-standard construction or energy-efficient self-builds.

“We continue to invest in our technology, including a new mortgage origination system which will be launching very soon.

“We’re also strengthening our BDM and underwriting team, to support our bespoke, case-by-case approach and ensure we offer the best service we can to intermediaries.”

Phil Daffern, head of lender relations at Simplybiz Mortgages, said: “Having had a sharp focus on the green agenda for over five years and assessed the market offering across a range of lenders, we are particularly pleased to be able to welcome Ecology to the panel.

“Their addition offers our members, and ultimately their clients, access to experienced specialists in this field, who have made it their mission from the outset to offer an ethical approach, supporting the environment and sustainability across the UK’s new and existing housing stock.

“We are already seeing significant shifts in requests for support for more climate friendly developments and this will only continue to grow as we all grapple with how to make our impact more environmentally neutral.”

Daffern added: “The addition of Ecology will ensure our members are perfectly placed to offer additional choice from specialists focused on the delivery of purpose-built supportive solutions.”
