UAE leads GCC demand for UK property searches in Q2 – Nomo

Nomo found that most property searches for UK homes from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) came from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Q2 2025, making up 51% of total searches.

Qatar followed at 18%, Saudi Arabia at 15% and Kuwait at 8%.

UAE searches dropped slightly from 58% in Q1, but still led the way.

Qatar moved up to second place after being third in the previous quarter, rising from 13% to 18%.

Searches peaked in April, dipped in May, then rose again in June.

From 2019 to 2024, residents from GCC countries made up 11% of all international searches for UK property, according to Nomo’s data.

Nomo said many UK brokers underestimate the scale of GCC interest and the potential commercial activity it could bring.

Layla Hamidian, head of property finance sales and servicing at Nomo, said: “We continue to see strong interest from GCC residents in the UK property market, with the UAE leading the way.

“While London remains a key destination, buyers are increasingly exploring opportunities across the UK, drawn by strong yields and growth potential.

“Market adjustments over the past year have created particularly attractive opportunities in the new-build sector, and we expect demand for both purchases and refinancing to remain strong throughout the rest of 2025.”
