Two specialist investors have launched Lyford Partners, a new private credit firm focused on providing asset-backed lending solutions to ultra-high net worth individuals, families and businesses.
Lyford, founded by Matt Meehan and Toby Bundy, has secured launch and long-term backing from Boston-based private investment firm Moody Aldrich Partners (MAP).
The firm will operate from London, with representatives in Cayman, Monaco and Nassau.
Lyford will offer discreet capital to bridge short- to medium-term liquidity needs in situations such as probate, matrimonial settlements, insolvency processes and other special-case funding requirements.
The firm will deploy between £2m and £20m per transaction, lending against high-quality assets to unlock liquidity for complex scenarios that may fall outside the scope of traditional lenders.
Meehan brings more than 30 years’ investment and specialist finance experience, having deployed over £3bn across more than 200 companies in the UK, US and Europe.
Bundy has extensive experience restructuring and advising on special situations lending, having previously built and exited a specialist investment platform.

“Asset-based lending is an attractive option because of its structural flexibility. We’ve already transacted a number of deals in October and have another closing this month.
