The Bridging & Development Lenders Association has named Ross Gandy, head of business development at Bluecroft Finance, as winner of the 2025 Benson Hersch Memorial Award.
The accolade, presented at the BDLA Annual Conference at Glaziers Hall on 12th November, recognises individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, initiative, integrity, market awareness and commitment to professional development, and honours the legacy of Benson Hersch, who led the BDLA from 2008–2019.
Bluecroft said Gandy has played a pivotal role in shaping the lender’s culture, strengthening broker relationships and supporting rapid growth.
The award also commemorates the former CEO of the ASTL, who passed away in 2022, recognising fairness, professionalism and behind-the-scenes influence as qualities to be celebrated in others.
Vic Jannels, CEO of the BDLA, said: “Ross embodies the very qualities that the Benson Hersch Memorial Award was created to celebrate – integrity, leadership, and a genuine commitment to raising standards across our industry.
“His contribution to both Bluecroft and the wider specialist finance community reflects the spirit of collaboration and professionalism that Benson championed throughout his career.”
Gandy said: “It’s an honour to receive the Benson Hersch Memorial Award. Benson’s legacy means a great deal to our sector, and I’m incredibly grateful to be recognised in his name.
“This award reflects the culture and dedication of the entire team at Bluecroft – it’s a recognition we share together.”
