Houzecheck introduces Bruce the Beaver mascot to boost brand recognition

Houzecheck has introduced Bruce the Beaver as its new mascot to build brand recognition and create a more memorable presence in the surveying market.

The company said Bruce will make Houzecheck stand out in a market where brands are often seen as transactional and lacking in personality.

Richard Sexton, commercial director at Houzecheck, said: “Churchill has a bulldog, Comparethemarket has a meerkat – now Houzecheck has Bruce.

“Consumer brands leverage mascots to build familiarity, drive recall, and humanise brand perception.

“Mascots act as consistent, memorable brand assets that outperform logos and slogans in long-term recognition.”

Sexton added: “Bruce anchors Houzecheck’s visual identity and narrative. He was designed to personify Houzecheck’s brand attributes.

“He is reliable and hardworking, core traits of beavers; he personifies smart-casual professionalism, reflecting the persona of surveyors; as well as being friendly, approachable, and trustworthy.”

The company will roll out Bruce in three phases, using him in social media posts, on the website, in email templates, and at events.

Houzecheck said it will also give out Bruce soft toys to customers who have completed a survey.

Sexton said: “We want Bruce to increase brand recall and differentiation within property services, to deliver higher engagement rates across social media channels, improved customer sentiment through character-based storytelling, and to build long-term brand asset equity comparable to mascot-driven category leaders.”

Bruce will be used on banners, brochures, presentations and merchandise at trade shows.

The company plans to make him a regular presence in campaigns and seasonal content.

Amit Bansal, founder and CEO at Houzecheck, said, “Bruce the Beaver is a scalable, multi-channel brand asset designed to humanise Houzecheck, differentiate it from competitors, and create a lasting visual identity in a transactional market.

“The team has done a great job designing him and I am looking forward to seeing him brought to life.”
