Draftlee AI tool launched to help mortgage advisers manage inbox demands

Mortgage AI Toolkit (MAT), a new technology provider founded by Ifthikar Mohamed, has launched Draftlee, an AI-powered email companion designed specifically for mortgage advisers.

The tool aims to address one of the sector’s persistent operational pressures: the amount of time advisers lose each day managing email.

Across the industry, advisers routinely spend more than an hour each day checking, replying to and sorting emails from clients, lenders, solicitors, internal teams and marketing sources.

MAT’s research found this can amount to around 1.5 hours of lost productive time per adviser per day.

Mohamed said: “Brokers aren’t short of skill – they’re short of time.

“AI tools like Draftlee are there to give that time back.

“The more we remove unnecessary admin, the more space advisers have to focus on clients, advice and the parts of the job that really move the needle.”

Draftlee has been built specifically around mortgage communication patterns and regulatory expectations.

It can draft responses in an adviser’s tone, prioritise messages, highlight what requires immediate attention, and support a structured “zero inbox” workflow.

It can also forward lender rate changes to the relevant team members and filter out marketing emails that typically clutter advisers’ inboxes.

The system is not designed to send advice-related communication automatically.

Instead, it prepares draft wording for the adviser to review and approve, ensuring professional and regulatory control remains with the broker.

MAT said Draftlee aims reduce email time to around 10 to 20 minutes per day in many cases, creating a more manageable communication flow and reducing stress for advisers.

Beyond Draftlee, MAT has developed a range of standalone tools aimed at specific stages of the broker workflow, including Collibry, a meeting intelligence tool that records and summarises client discussions; myCriteria, which provides instant access to lender rules across more than 90 lenders; and ChatMAT, a conversational assistant that captures enquiries around the clock.

Other tools include AutoBook, DealStream, Spently, SypHR and EduFlow.

Mohamed concluded: “Email admin is one of those hidden bottlenecks that everyone knows is there but very few firms actively tackle.

“When brokers are spending an hour or more each day simply coping with their inbox, that’s time that could be spent on calls, fact-finds, case progression or referral relationships.

“Draftlee is our way of directly addressing that problem.”
