Greencore Homes launches first show home at The Canopies in Oxfordshire

Sustainable housebuilder Greencore Homes has opened its first show home at The Canopies in Milton Heights, Oxfordshire.

The event was attended by Councillor Rawda Jehanli (pictured), Mayor of Abingdon-on-Thames, who cut the ribbon to mark the official opening.

The Canopies is a 42-home development built on a former brownfield site and designed to blend in with the established trees surrounding the area.

All homes are built to Passivhaus standards using natural materials.

Guests at the opening were offered coffee and pastries from a local Oxfordshire van.

Jehanli said: “It’s fantastic to be part of this opening, which helps meet Oxfordshire’s housing needs.

“I’m particularly pleased to see such a strong commitment to delivering Better Than Net Zero homes that benefit not only our environment, but also the financial wellbeing of local residents.

“With so many people working at Milton Park and contributing to the area’s economic success, it’s clear how important developments like The Canopies are in providing high quality homes for local people and helping to strengthen our wider community.”

Laura Stone, chief operating officer at Greencore Homes, said: “At Greencore, our ambition is to create homes that are good for people, good for families, and good for the planet.

“The Canopies show home captures that spirit perfectly. It’s not just about sustainability, it’s about happiness, creating homes where people feel calm, connected, and uplifted every day.

“This opening marks a significant milestone for us at Greencore, and having the Mayor join us just reinforces the importance of creating sustainable, healthy homes for the region.”
