According to cherryplc.co.uk, brokers have been engaged in lively debates surrounding the benefits of marketing, as well as dealing with smaller PTs.

Some advisers felt that while charging a fee might deter a small percentage of clients, it could ultimately be more financially beneficial, resulting in less work for the same, or even more money.

cherry, the forums which attracted more than 5,000 visitors in September, has detailed the most active threads during the month.

Coventry Building Society, Accord, Skipton Building Society and Aviva were noted for answering quickly.

One forum thread received nearly a thousand views and 60 comments, revealing the frustration that brokers are feeling about the short notice lenders have provided on product withdrawals in recent weeks.

Other popular threads included how to value a limited company, mental health and Consumer Duty.

The Provider Forum is free for providers to join and forms part of cherry’s long-term objective of improving communication between advisers and providers.

A survey on the broker forum has revealed that 28% of landlord clients are planning to sell properties, while 39% of buy-to-let investors say they will increase rents.
