The proposals aim to ensure firms’ safety while allowing them to increase high LTI lending in line with their risk appetite.

The consultation is now open and runs until 27th April 2026.
The move comes as HM Treasury has opened a consultation on proposed reforms to the AR regime.
The package covers guidelines for unlawful eviction and unlawful harassment of occupiers, as well as offences related to HMOs and housing standards.
