Iain Smith said: “These refinements to our DIP are another step in our mission to make specialist lending and bridging finance as straightforward as possible."

From July to September, commercial searches were up 6.3% to 1,059, while development searches were down 9.9% to 1,990.

The lender introduced a decision in principle (DIP) for limited company purchase and remortgage cases, aiming to speed up lending decisions.

The move means brokers using Xplan Mortgage can now submit DIPs for all Nationwide mortgage applicants.

There were 3,295 bridging loan searches, 996 commercial loan searches and 1,552 development finance searches on the platform in Q2 2025.

This latest enhancement builds on the ‘quick quote’ functionality launched in November last year, which allowed brokers to generate Selina quotes directly within OMS.

The upgraded system will allow brokers to create a mortgage application and select products, utilise standalone loan and affordability calculators.

The changes will allow all qualifying Home Purchase Plan and buy-to-let customers to independently obtain a decision in principle in approximately ten minutes.

Any Acre broker can connect with Nationwide as of today via APIs that could save up to 45 minutes per case.

Target has developed a way to provide accurate income, expenditure and property valuation information, at the beginning of the application process.

The automated DIP process means that cases that meet certain criteria on application, will be automatically accepted instead of requiring an underwriter to review the initial application.
