Applicants with at least one year’s UK residency need a minimum income of £50,000 for single applicants or £75,000 for joint applicants.

The lender also reduced its minimum UK residency and employment history requirements from two years to one year and removed the minimum income requirement.Â

Data showed that only 27% of brokers said placing cases for foreign nationals was straightforward.Â

More overseas borrowers can now access homeownership and investment opportunities.

The products are aimed at borrowers who are living and working in the UK but do not hold permanent residency and wish to purchase a property.

This latest change aims to cut costs and reduce the hassle of servicing mortgage debt from overseas.

New customers can make a single overpayment of up to 10% of their outstanding loan balance each year without early repayment charges (ERCs).
