The finance from Aldermore Bank will provide Mint Property Finance with the funding to support its bridging lending portfolio.

Leigh Harwood and Ben Broad (pictured) join Mint as it aims to develop its existing underwriting team.

This follows a series of other additions, including Steve Smith as head of sales, and Simon Micklethwaite as senior business development manager.

He will be responsible for supporting the firm's growth and growing its relationships with brokers and introducers.

Smith brings over 24 years of property finance experience to the company, having started his career at the Bank of Scotland in 1997 and later specialising in property finance.

The quarter saw a 53% to 47% split between bridging loans and development loans, as developers became more cautious about financing complex sites in Q4 2022.
