
Housing Ombudsman urges landlords to “avoid apathy” on window disrepair

KPI data showed 58% of residents who had their cases supported at dispute were satisfied with the service.Â

The change allows the ombudsman to step in if a landlord’s performance is below others on key measures.Â

The overall maladministration rate dropped by 2 percentage points, with a 7% fall in complaint handling failures.

Propertymark agreed with the Housing Ombudsman that the social housing sector was missing a consumer-choice dynamic, unlike the PRS.Â

The guidance will address both maintaining effective relationships and restoring those that have broken down.


The investigation was prompted after the landlord’s complaint handling maladministration rate rose from 56% to 81% in the past year.
