Centrick launches professional services division

Property specialist Centrick has launched a new valuation and professional services division designed to give even greater support to its residential and building and estate management clients.

The new Centrick Valuation & Professional Services division will support local and national clients alike from its Birmingham headquarters.

It will join the Group’s existing property valuation team, which already offers formal RICS ‘Red Book’ valuations and reinstatement cost assessments, with new in-house building surveying capabilities, aligning with the company’s ambition to have a fully integrated property business.

It will complement the efforts of Centrick’s Residential and Building & Estate Management team in executing major works projects and delivering a best-in-class service to clients. The new division’s services will also include compliance.

Centrick managing director Phil Johns said: “Centrick Valuation & Professional Services will see another step change to our already high service levels and ensure an industry leading approach to building issues, proactively diagnosing problems more effectively and minimising any disruption residents experience with building fabric problems.

“Establishing a multi-faceted professional services offering has always been a strategic pillar in the long-term considered growth of Centrick and I’m excited to see that ambition come to fruition. Our goal has always been to support our clients with turnkey property solutions and being able to offer building surveyor services in addition to valuation as part of the new Centrick Valuation & Professional Services division will provide real added value for our property teams to ensure we are maintaining the homes of our customers to the highest standards.”

The division builds on Centrick’s expertise and significant growth in its valuations department. In the past three years the valuations team has grown by 150%, and coverage has been extended across the West Midlands and East Midlands. It has secured significant panel appointments and has seen a 200% increase in valuations monthly.

Centrick founder James Ackrill said its expertise in residential property has been the focus of its service and strategic growth plans. When Centrick acquired the brand and assets of Andrew Grant Commercial in 2020 it was primarily for its valuation capability.

“Centrick has always been a residential property expert. This new division provides us with a major opportunity to focus primarily on delivering residential and professional property services,” he said.

In order to sustain this focus, Centrick is selling the retail arm of its commercial agency business to long-term peers Siddall-Jones.

James added: “The Centrick retail agency team will be transferring to Siddall-Jones which means all of our retail agency clients will experience a smooth transition and no loss of service, while working with the people that they have come to know and trust.”

Ed Siddall-Jones, managing director of Birmingham-based Siddall-Jones, said: “I am of course thrilled to be welcoming such a high quality, experienced team of property professionals from Centrick.

“This is just the latest stage in our growth, and further enhances our offering to landlords both regionally and nationally, ranging from independents to major property businesses.”
