Market Harborough Building Society withdraws fixed rates

Market Harborough Building Society has informed brokers that it will be withdrawing its fixed rates.

In an effort to give intermediaries as much notice as possible before withdrawing products, the Society will withdraw rates as of 9am next Tuesday, 8th August.

The rates will immediately be replaced with repriced options.

This decision followed yesterday’s decision by the Bank of England to raise interest rates a further 0.25%, to 5.25%, putting lenders under pressure to reprice products in order to keep up with high levels of demand.
