Letting agency launches climate change campaign to plant thousands of trees

The hybrid lettings agency, Accommodation.co.uk has pledged an ongoing campaign to positively impact climate change by planting trees and supporting vital projects around the globe.

The agency has already achieved a climate-positive workforce by planting 1,190 trees and has pledged to plant an additional tree for every new property that is let. This is the equivalent to offsetting 13.25 Tons of carbon.

As part of this ongoing commitment, Accommodation.co.uk will be asking its landlords, tenants and team members to vote on new projects each month so the business can make further positive impacts on climate change. This month the agency has chosen to support a project to produce energy from waste rice husk in India and a second to help with cleaner cookstoves in Zambia and Ghana.

Accommodation.co.uk offers landlords an award-winning unique hybrid model, using a combination of tech and on the ground agents with local knowledge and expertise.

Aaron Short, founder and CEO at Accommodation.co.uk, added, “At Accommodation.co.uk we take climate change seriously and believe every business should play their part. Making our workforce climate positive is just the start and we will continue to make a positive impact, which is something we are extremely proud to be doing.

We are delighted to be able to invite our customers to get involved by allowing them to vote on projects for us to support and alongside this, we will also be planting a tree every time we let a new property. For the Accommodation team, this is only the start of making a positive change as we want to leave the world in a better place than we came into it.”
