Property industry veteran Mark Hayward joins Just Move In as advisor

Property industry veteran Mark Hayward (pictured) is joining home move platform, Just Move In, as an advisor and brand ambassador.

Hayward previously spent seven years as chief executive of the estate agent’s division of Propertymark, having previously been a board member and chair of the board for four years.

He will be a general advisor and brand ambassador for Just Move In, and help create products that appeal to agents. Just Move In helps home movers avoid hassle by managing essential admin for them, as well as saving them money on their bills.

Hayward has previously represented the property industry to both government and the media, calling for business rate relief for estate agents and supporting members affected by Covid-19.

He has long called for sector regulation and was an integral part of the Regulation of Property Agents Working Group, which was formed by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and chaired by Lord Best, to advise the government on how to make regulation of property agents a reality.

The appointment of Hayward follows serial high street CEO, John Browett, joining the company as chairman last month. Hayward will begin working with Just Move In at the end of the year.

Browett was formerly chief executive of major UK businesses including Tesco.com, Dixons Retail, Monsoon-Accessorize, and Dunelm Group.

Hayward said: “After a long career in the property industry, I’m ready for a new challenge, and I can’t wait to join Just Move In.

“It’s an incredible time to be coming on board, with the property market buoyant and demand for their service booming.

“More and more consumers demand that the services they use take sustainability seriously, and Just Move In is perfectly placed thanks to its ethical agenda.”

Ross Nichols, co-founder of Just Move In, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to the team, and will find his experience invaluable as we grow.”
