New Housing Minister appointed

Marcus Jones (pictured) has been appointed as Housing Minister following the resignation of Stuart Andrew.

Andrew resigned as part of the mass walkout of Government officials which forced the resignation of Boris Johnson as Conservative leader.

Jones has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Nuneaton since 2010 and was previously the had been the Leader of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

“I am pleased to be appointed as a Minister of State (Minister for Housing) in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

“The last few days have been traumatic for the Conservative Party, but it is very important that Government continues to be handled competently and that we deliver on the issues facing people at the present time.”

“This is an important and challenging brief and I look forward to giving all my energy and attention to this demanding role,” Jones said on his Facebook page.
