Butterfield Mortgages promotes apprentice to credit risk team

Butterfield Mortgages has promoted Navishna Arcson to the position of credit administrator within its credit risk team following her successful completion of an apprenticeship program with the prime mortgage lender.

Arcson, who initially joined Butterfield Mortgages as a front of house apprentice, has now earned a data technician qualification.

In her new role, she will report to Anthony Neville, head of credit at Butterfield Mortgages, and will be involved in various aspects including documenting facility letters, liaising with solicitors and valuers, and managing both new and renewing mortgages, as well as administering the lender’s loan book.

This appointment highlights Butterfield Mortgages’ commitment to nurturing talent and providing career pathways in financial services.

The lender has a history of employing apprentices to develop skills and offer valuable industry experience, allowing them to progress into areas of their interest.

Several past apprentices have achieved ACCA accountancy qualifications while working at Butterfield Mortgages and have advanced to senior roles in larger firms, including international banks. Currently, the company also has an apprentice supporting the compliance team.

Arcson shared her enthusiasm about her progression, said: “Butterfield Mortgages’ apprentice scheme has enabled me to gain invaluable workplace experience in a front of house position while also completing a data technician qualification.

“Being exposed to all business areas during my studies provided me with a deep understanding of Butterfield and the wider lending industry, enabling me to immediately put what I was learning into practice.”

“I’m looking forward to getting started in my new role and using my qualification to further enhance my skills and contribute to the Credit Risk team,” she added.

Anthony Neville expressed his satisfaction with Arcson’s development, adding: “I am delighted that we have been able to develop a pathway for Navi following the successful completion of her apprenticeship.

“Throughout her time with Butterfield, she has demonstrated the skills and attitude needed to excel in the prime mortgage market. I am confident that these qualities will ensure that she has a very successful career, and I look forward to watching her continued development in the Credit Risk team.”
