Skipton Building Society has appointed Grace Sparkes (pictured) to its team of business development managers in the London area.
Sparkes, who is from Ashford in Kent, has always had a career in financial services but moved to focus on mortgages after several years, starting by studying for her CeMAP 1 before securing a job as a broker which she continued to do in different businesses for several years.
She has had previous background with building societies which is one of the reasons she has chosen to return to the sector with Skipton.
Sparkes said: “I am excited to be starting my new role with Skipton Building Society, I can’t wait to get out in the field and start meeting brokers and sharing all things Skipton.”
“Ever since I purchased my first home, I wanted to know the ins and outs of buying a house. It was such a stressful experience and I wanted to try and help people get through the stress and be that person to hold their hand and help them.
“I hope having a background in broking will help me to empathise with brokers and look at the policies and criteria that will really help them get their clients into their dream homes”
John Scrivens, business development manager, said: “Grace joins the team at an exciting time as we’re continuing to expand our team of BDMs to support the intermediary market, as well as furthering Skipton’s ambition to become a top ten lender.”
