Nearly half of letting agents optimistic about AI, survey reveals

Almost half of letting agents are optimistic about the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools across the industry, a survey from Vouch and Goodlord has revealed.

According to the poll of more than 400 letting agents, 45% said AI tools such as ChatGPT would help them in the future.

A strong majority of agents believed professionals in the sector were open to adopting new technologies.

Almost two-fifths (39%) were neutral about the topic of AI, saying they neither agreed nor disagreed with the statement ‘AI tools will prove beneficial going forward’.

Furthermore, 16% of agents believed AI would actively hinder the industry

In England, agents in Greater London (54%) were the most receptive to AI, and agents in the West Midlands (36%) were the least receptive.

Frankie Malpass, product lead at Vouch, said: “AI is here to stay – whether you’re using renttech providers that check IDs for facial recognition, writing marketing ads with the help of ChatGPT, or using AI-led tools to do 360-degree virtual tours.

“The trick for the future is how to use AI to your advantage.

“It’s therefore great to see just how many letting agents are feeling positive about the advent of everyday AI and are open to adopting new technologies.”
