Cambridge & Counties Bank names Tim Lucas as head of product & proposition

Cambridge & Counties Bank has announced the appointment of Tim Lucas to the role of head of product & proposition, a new position within the company.

Lucas, who previously held a senior role at HSBC, will report to chief commercial officer, Sarah Barker.

His responsibilities will include collaboration with the leaders of the bank’s real estate finance, asset finance, and marketing departments, contributing to the bank’s growth strategy in the UK.

Lucas brings extensive experience from HSBC, where he led a large product team and managed the retail portfolio’s existing customer base.

His move to Cambridge & Counties Bank coincides with the bank achieving a record month for new lending in February 2024. In his new role, Lucas will oversee the bank’s savings and lending products, aiming to ensure they meet the current and future needs of its customers.

This appointment follows recent additions to the bank’s senior team, including Scott Barber as regional director – North, Elizabeth Lockwood as a non-executive director (NED) and chair of the Risk & Compliance Committee, and Michele Ibbs as NED and shareholder representative for Cambridgeshire Local Government Pension Fund, highlighting the bank’s ongoing investment in talent.

Barker said: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Tim’s calibre and exceptional experience to the senior team. He will play a central role in our strategy to be the ‘bank of choice’ for the UK’s SMEs and professional property investors.”

Lucas added: “Cambridge & Counties Bank is well positioned to meet its growth aspirations in core areas such as asset finance and real estate finance. I look forward to working with all teams to deliver an enhanced proposition to our customers and the commercial finance brokers that serve them.”
