Mortgage Business Expo London reveals keynote speaker for 2024

Mortgage Business Expo (MBE) has revealed that the keynote address at MBE London 2024 will be given by Rob Elder (pictured), the Bank of England’s agent for Greater London.

Elder will provide the intermediaries in attendance with his insights into the current state of the economy and the future outlook for the UK.

Elder has worked for the Bank of England since 1998, having spent 12 years supporting the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) as an economist and senior management.

He then represented the UK on the board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) between 2010 and 2012, and more recently has supported the Bank’s Financial Policy Committee by running a team monitoring development in the UK banking sector.

Before joining the Bank of England, Elder spent eight years as an economist and forecaster at HM Treasury.

This year’s MBE London takes place on 10th October, and will once again be held at the Business Design Centre.

Mike Mikunda from MBE said: “We are delighted to once again have the Bank of England’s Rob Elder delivering the keynote address at MBE London.

“His presentation last year was one of the highlights of the event, and he will once again provide intermediaries with an informative and entertaining look into what lies ahead for the economy.

“The Mortgage Business Expo is renowned for providing the very best speakers for the brokers in attendance, as well as the opportunity to spend time with providers, network with their peers, and earn CPD points in the process.”
